Here I am simply going to share with you the basic available information on how to link your NIN to MTN and other Networks provider, do go-ahead to further your findings as you see pleased.

Brief Intro To NIN

The National Identification Number (NIN) is the unique number that identifies you as a Nigerian and is issued to you upon enrollment by NIMC (The National Identity Management Commission). It is used to match your biometric data and other details in the National Identity Database during verification and authentication.

The NIN is used to tie all records about an individual into the National Identity Database and is also used as a valid means of establishing or verifying the individual identity.

You may have to do some enrolments Kindly check the NIMC website ( https://nimc.gov.ng/ ) for more information.

Now, you have done the first step, congratulations.

Here you need to link your NIN to your Numbers and you can use your NIN for registrations as required!

You may have more than one Sim Cards, (Numbers from Various Providers) You only need to update them all with your NIN individually

This implies, you will update for MTN Numbers, Glo Numbers, Airtel Numbers Separately.

Yes, you need to link your NIN with your number.

Please dial *785* Your 11 digit NIN# from the phone number you wish to link.

You can also download MyMTN App and follow the NIN banner to submit your NIN details in the app.

Kindly note that the NIN you submit to us is subject to further verification by NIMC.

I found this page very useful from Glo Blog “all esteemed customers can now link their National Identification Number (NIN) to their mobile numbers by simply sending ‘UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName’ to 109.

For example, send ‘UPDATENIN 12345678903 Chidera Abdul-Ola’ to 109.”  

Customers can dial *346# to retrieve their NIN if they have already registered with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

If you can browse with your phone then simply update your Airtel NIN by visiting their portal page Here https://www.airtel.com.ng/nin/

It is also available to submit NIN for Friends and Family via the same portal

Alternatively, you can simply Just dial *121*1# now to link.

Or you can dial *200*8#

There may be other facilities and registrations asides from network providers or Data providers; Spectranet, Smiles, etc that you should update your NIN information.
